Maintenance Officer – Residential Aged Care

About the role

St Vincent's Health Australia is seeking a Maintenance Officer for its Corinda facility. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will keep the facility, grounds, plant and equipment in good condition so that residents, staff and visitors stay in a safe, comfortable and high-quality environment. This is a Leave Coverage position (fixed term) that can be worked casual, part-time or full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, fabrication and routine maintenance with limited supervision
• Supervise external contractors such as painters, plumbers, electricians and refrigeration technicians on installation, service and repair work
• Coordinate equipment testing, including resident-related equipment in line with Australian Standards
• Execute and log preventative maintenance programs
• Apply infection control, manual handling and WHS hazard identification practices
• Work an on-call roster, including every second weekend and covering supervisor leave

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage competing demands with strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting
• Demonstrated commitment to WHS, infection control and risk management
• Alignment with the mission and values of St Vincent's Health Australia
• Desirable: relevant trade qualification, experience in residential aged care, and knowledge of safe chemical handling
