About the role

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) is seeking a locum physician to join its pain clinic team in Victoria. The position is embedded within a growing academic department that delivers integrated services across two tertiary hospitals and collaborates closely with the University of British Columbia and the Island Medical Program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to patients with chronic pain.
• Participate in teaching activities for medical students and residents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across two hospital sites.

Required profile

• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in a primary specialty (or equivalent).
• Completion of an accredited chronic pain fellowship.
• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of chronic pain.
• Teaching and mentorship of learners in a clinical setting.
