Litigation Counsel (In-House)

About the role

This quasi‑in‑house position is based within a family‑office law firm and offers a unique blend of commercial litigation exposure across a diverse portfolio of businesses. You will manage a wide spectrum of contentious matters, from Supreme Court cases to routine commercial disputes, while enjoying a balanced work‑life environment without billable‑hour targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end litigation matters for multiple subsidiaries, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, and court appearances.
• Handle complex commercial disputes, insolvency, enforcement and recovery actions.
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialised legal areas while maintaining primary responsibility for case management.
• Engage directly with senior stakeholders across the group to provide legal advice and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Current NSW practising certificate.
• Significant experience in commercial litigation, including high‑court matters.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently from inception to resolution.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence interacting with senior business leaders.
