Linux Cloud Compute Operations Engineer (Tier 2)

About the role

Provide advanced operational support for Linux‑based cloud compute environments, ensuring stability, compliance and resilience across production and non‑production systems. The role also covers middleware, messaging, database, cloud services and virtualization technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and validate RHEL patching cycles, generate snapshots and produce compliance reports.
• Perform controlled changes in lower and production environments, adhering to “Do Not Reboot” directives.
• Develop and maintain utility scripts, manage GitHub pull requests and automate tasks with Ansible.
• Own Linux‑related incidents, lead major outage troubleshooting and provide root‑cause analysis.
• Handle production data copy requests and coordinate with hardware vendors for diagnostics.
• Address middleware dependencies (SiteMinder, Oracle client, Apache/Tomcat, MQ) and share progress dashboards with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL focus) with system configuration and performance tuning.
• Proven track record in enterprise patching cycles and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure, lead technical bridges and coordinate globally.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools for change and incident workflows.
