Line Setter / Machine Setter - Pharma & Food Packaging

About the role

Good People HR is recruiting five Line Setters / Machine Setters for a pharmaceutical manufacturing role in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The work involves setting up and operating packaging machines and production lines for bottles, sachets, jars, pouches and tubes. The position is permanent full-time with two day shifts, two afternoon shifts and one night shift, and requires an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the line runs efficiently and productively once set up, coordinating tasks for continuous operation
• Complete changeovers of filling, capping and labelling equipment accurately within a set time
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment during the run to maximise output and minimise downtime and wastage
• Set up, strip down, wash and reassemble filling and packing equipment
• Monitor product quality throughout the run and make adjustments to maintain quality and compliance
• Operate and maintain equipment safely, changing parts in a clean and orderly way
• Work to the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Enter tasks into ERP and other systems, complete documentation and reporting, and take part in training on SOPs, GMP, OH&S and 5S

Required profile

• Experience setting up bottle, sachet, tube and/or jar packaging lines from the food or pharma industry; pharmaceutical packaging line set-up experience required
• Proven machine operating experience in food manufacturing or pharmaceuticals; similar role experience is a must
• Own car and licence
• PR or Australian/NZ citizenship is mandatory; a work visa is not sufficient

Required skills

• High mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Advanced GMP knowledge and a sound understanding of OHS
• Written and oral communication skills
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Forklift licence is advantageous
