Light Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

A reputed automotive company in Australia is hiring experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining light vehicles, including petrol and diesel engines, with strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components of light vehicles.
• Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs.
• Dismantle and reassemble engines, transmissions, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Run diagnostic tests and interpret fault codes using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and replace defective parts according to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out wheel alignments, wheel balancing and tyre replacements.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records and comply with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with workshop teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic.
• Valid driving licence.
• Experience with both petrol and diesel vehicles.
• Knowledge of 4WD vehicles and brands such as Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Isuzu.

• Proficiency with workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and automotive software.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
