Legal Counsel

About the role

Logicalis Australia is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its Melbourne-based team. The role covers a broad range of legal, commercial, compliance and risk matters within a global technology business, reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with senior leaders. It offers significant autonomy, exposure to senior decision-makers and experience across commercial contracting, privacy, compliance, procurement, employment matters and dispute management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal and commercial advice to business stakeholders on operational and strategic matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, statements of work and standard terms and conditions.
• Support bid and tender activities through legal review and risk assessment.
• Assist with corporate compliance requirements and reporting obligations.
• Support privacy, data protection and governance initiatives.
• Assist with customer and supplier disputes and employment and workplace matters, in partnership with People & Culture and external advisers.
• Contribute legal expertise to business projects and build relationships with local, regional and global stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law and eligibility to practise in Australia.
• Around 3-7 years post-qualification experience in private practice, in-house or a mix of both.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience in technology, telecommunications, privacy, cybersecurity or data protection is highly regarded but not essential.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Good commercial judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach to risk.
• Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative.
