Legal Counsel

About the role

Dicker Data is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide practical, commercially‑focused legal support across its ICT distribution business. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to manage contracts, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, customer, reseller, distribution, service contracts and NDAs.
• Identify key legal risks and develop practical solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support contract renewals, amendments and variations with relevant business units.
• Engage with senior management to understand commercial objectives and provide clear legal input.
• Coordinate with external lawyers, consultants and counterparties as required.
• Collaborate with the Legal team, including paralegals, to manage workflow and share knowledge.
• Assist with legal compliance matters, internal policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Manage ad‑hoc legal requests and maintain legal inboxes or workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) with a current practising certificate.
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic legal advice.
