Legal Assistant – Personal Injuries

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Queensland Personal Injuries team at our Browns Plains office. You will work closely with experienced lawyers on a diverse range of personal injury matters, supporting clients from initial enquiry through to case resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Correspond with clients regarding initial claim enquiries.
• Mentor and support legal support staff.
• Communicate with clients to obtain instructions and relevant information.
• Review and analyse liability and quantum material, requesting additional documentation as needed.
• Draft legal and client correspondence and documents.
• Develop an understanding of strategies used in similar personal injury matters.

Required profile

• Previous paralegal experience, preferably within personal injuries.
• Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Strong academic background and experience in complex legal research and writing.
• Understanding of our client base with the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassion.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and manipulating data (advantageous).
• Ability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and maintain outstanding organisational standards.
• Genuine passion for law and a collaborative work ethic.
