Lecturers in Pharmacy Practice (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The University of Queensland's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking two experienced Lecturers in Pharmacy Practice to support the development of its new Doctor of Pharmacy program. The positions are full-time, fixed-term for up to three years starting January 2027, based at the Dutton Park campus. Base salary ranges from $119,462 to $141,545 (Academic Level B) plus 17% superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate courses in pharmacy practice and cognate disciplines such as clinical therapeutics, professional practice, the social and ethical dimensions of practice and clinical epidemiology, and assess students.
• Build an independent or collaborative research program with national recognition, contribute to competitive funding applications, publish in reputable journals and use best-practice research methods.
• Contribute to the supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
• Build partnerships with colleagues, industry, government, professional bodies and the wider community, and contribute to school service.

Required profile

• PhD in pharmacy, pharmacy practice or a related field.
• Evidence of high-quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level, and professional expertise in teaching pharmacy practice topics.
• Demonstrated experience in course coordination, curriculum design and improving pharmacy programs and course materials.
• Publications in refereed journals and conference presentations, and a record of securing and managing external research funding.
• Experience supervising Research Higher Degree students and leading internal service roles at school level.
• Unrestricted right to work in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available.
