Lecturer – Social Sciences (Part‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role

UHI Perth is seeking two enthusiastic Lecturers in Social Sciences on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis until 25 June 2027. You will teach across a wide spectrum of programmes, from National 5 to degree level, delivering engaging and student‑centred learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver teaching sessions for Social Sciences across multiple qualification levels.
• Develop and assess coursework, ensuring high academic standards.
• Support learners to achieve their full potential and promote student success.
• Utilise digital learning technologies and Virtual Learning Environments where appropriate.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental activities.

Required profile

• Experience working in Further Education and/or Higher Education.
• Honours degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in a relevant Social Sciences discipline.
• Commitment to a student‑centred approach and ability to inspire learners.
• Willingness to undergo a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and other digital teaching tools.
