Lecturer - Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

The University of Queensland (UQ) is offering a full-time fixed-term position as Lecturer in Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering at its St Lucia campus. The role sits in the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and is open to up to 12 months. It is a teaching-focused position within a collaborative community of robotics and mechatronics academics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including lectures, tutorials, assessments and student supervision
• Contribute to curriculum and assessment design informed by student feedback and industry needs
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects and contribute to research outputs
• Supervise Honours, bachelor's thesis and Higher Degree by Research students
• Build partnerships with industry, government, professional bodies and the wider community, and contribute to internal service roles

Required profile

• PhD in robotics or mechatronic engineering, or a closely related discipline
• Growing profile in teaching and research in robotics, mechatronics or related areas such as signal processing, control systems or engineering programming
• Demonstrated ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including in small and large groups
• Experience designing learning materials and assessments, and delivering and coordinating courses
• Experience in curriculum development, program improvement and student supervision
• Evidence of collaborative research, academic service and engagement with external partners
