Lecturer in AI, Big Data, Cybersecurity & Computing

About the role

The School of Computing and Information Technology at the University of Wollongong seeks a Lecturer to support teaching and research across Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Applied Computing and Information Technology. This is a fixed‑term, four‑year full‑time appointment based at the Wollongong campus with required travel to the Liverpool campus.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, labs and tutorials for first‑year and other subjects.
• Coordinate course delivery and develop curriculum materials.
• Supervise student projects and assessments.
• Conduct and publish research in one or more of the listed domains.
• Engage with industry partners and contribute to research funding initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at undergraduate level.
• Active research record in AI, Big Data, Cybersecurity, Applied Computing or IT.
• Commitment to student success, equity and collaborative work.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence concepts.
• Expertise in Big Data Analytics.
• Understanding of Cybersecurity principles.
• Competence in Applied Computing.
• Familiarity with contemporary Information Technology practices.
