Lecturer – Foundation Skills (Part‑time)

About the role

TAFE SA is seeking a part‑time Lecturer to deliver foundation‑skills training to Deaf learners at its Light Square campus. The role runs until 14 December 2026 and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys while working within a supportive, award‑winning institution.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and assess foundation‑skills courses in line with relevant training packages.
• Provide guidance, mentorship and feedback to Deaf students to support their learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with industry and community partners to offer consultancy services where required.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and comply with TAFE SA policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of active involvement in the Deaf community as a language user.
• Demonstrated experience communicating with a wide range of Deaf individuals.
• Auslan‑English bilingual proficiency (Auslan essential, written English proficient).
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent is desirable.
• Valid Working with Children Check issued by the South Australian Department of Human Services.

Required skills

• Fluency in Auslan and strong written English communication.
• Ability to develop and deliver training and assessment materials.
• Experience teaching Deaf adults is highly regarded.
