Lecturer – Applied Innovation (Full‑time, Ongoing)

About the role

Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a Lecturer in Applied Innovation to join Design Factory Melbourne. This full‑time, ongoing position will shape interdisciplinary, studio‑based learning that connects students with real‑world industry challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver hands‑on, studio‑based courses for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Collaborate with industry partners, startups and research teams to co‑create innovation projects.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of innovation‑focused units.
• Engage in applied research and publish high‑quality scholarly work.
• Support Design Factory’s innovation services, including collaboration with external partners.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching in a university setting.
• Leadership or team coordination experience in higher education (desirable).
• Ability to contribute to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate innovation courses.
• Commitment to research with a record of high‑quality publications (desirable).
• PhD or equivalent experience in innovation methodology or a related field.
