Lecturer – Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking a full‑time Lecturer for its School of Education on the Sydney campus. This position is dedicated to teacher education and requires an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidate who will contribute to culturally responsive pedagogies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver courses related to your discipline expertise.
• Develop, prepare and present lecture and tutorial content focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pedagogies and ways of knowing.
• Mark assessments, provide feedback and consult with students.
• Assist with course administration and co‑supervise honours or postgraduate students.
• Build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, ensuring collaborative and reciprocal engagement.
• Mentor Indigenous students and engage with Indigenous colleagues for professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified primary or secondary teacher.
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (occupational requirement).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain scholarly and professional activities relevant to teacher education.
• Collaborative approach to working with the education team and broader university community.
