Learning and Development Officer

About the role

The Learning and Development Officer will support training and development across the Western Plains Correctional Centre, a modern new correctional facility. You will help staff access appropriate training programmes and contribute to safe prison operations while building your own skills in training, reporting and workforce development.

Key responsibilities

• Support training and development initiatives across the correctional centre.
• Assist staff in accessing training programmes that match their roles.
• Support the development and opening of a new correctional facility.
• Maintain accurate training records and update specialist databases.
• Prepare clear reports on training and service delivery.
• Review and create practical learning materials.
• Assist with training sessions, induction programmes and staff recognition activities.

Required profile

• Experience working with training records and learning systems.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to complete it.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and training databases.
• Knowledge of training administration and AQTF compliance.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Flexible and inclusive approach when working with others.
