Leading Hand - Structural Remediation (Coal Handling Plant)

About the role

Linkforce, a contractor providing shutdown, maintenance and project services to mining, infrastructure, energy and defence clients, is seeking experienced Leading Hands for its Bowen Basin operation. The role leads a small team delivering structural remediation and maintenance to the onsite Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). It is a casual position on an ongoing long-term roster starting in October.

Key responsibilities

• Lead works so they are completed to client and company specifications
• Lead a team of trade and non-trade personnel to deliver key results
• Liaise with Linkforce clients and site-based personnel
• Plan and schedule work and labour requirements, and monitor progress against the work schedule
• Lead by example on tools, safety, quality workmanship and productivity
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company HSEQ standards and procedures

Required profile

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in shutdown as a Leading Hand
• Heavy fabrication trade qualification (Australian recognised)
• G1/8/9 (formerly S1/2/3) and G2 supervisor competencies
• Working at heights and confined space within 2 years; Standard 11 or willingness to obtain it
• Current Coal Board medical or willingness to obtain it
• BMA core inductions or SC number highly advantageous
• Current Australian driver's licence, Class C minimum
