Leading Hand – Maintenance & Facilities

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Leading Hand to join the Facilities team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will oversee daily maintenance and grounds operations, ensuring a safe and high‑standard environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the grounds and maintenance team in daily operational tasks.
• Coordinate labour resources to align with operational priorities.
• Maintain landscaping, gardens, roads, pathways and common areas.
• Assist with utilities infrastructure (water, gas, electricity, digital services) maintenance.
• Oversee rubbish and recycling operations across the property.
• Monitor facility conditions and proactively identify maintenance needs.
• Plan workloads, resources and project priorities with the Facilities Manager.
• Liaise with contractors to ensure safe, efficient and timely completion of works.
• Collaborate with the Financial Administrator on contractor scheduling and performance.
• Provide regular updates on project progress, equipment and material requirements.
• Act as delegate for the Facilities Manager during periods of leave.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, facilities or property maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate resources effectively.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach to maintenance issues.
• Experience working with contractors and external service providers.
