Lead Electrical Designer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Electrical Designer to join its Queensland Industrial team. You will drive the design of complex electrical, instrumentation and control (EIC) systems for carbon‑neutral, sustainable projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of detailed EIC designs across multiple projects.
• Manage and delegate work packages to a small team of designers.
• Produce high‑quality design documentation using industry drafting software.
• Mentor junior staff and support their technical growth.
• Collaborate with global design centres to share best practices.
• Ensure designs meet schedule, budget and consulting‑industry constraints.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical design teams on large‑scale projects.
• Ability to work autonomously from preliminary inputs to detailed deliverables.
• Strong understanding of consulting‑industry project delivery and budget management.
• Excellent communication skills for global collaboration.
