Lead AI Engineer

About the role

Join Zurich's ZX initiative to shape AI‑led insurance solutions. This greenfield position lets you design and build agent‑based systems from concept to production, driving tangible business and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development of AI agents and orchestration solutions in production.
• Drive engineering excellence with strong DevSecOps and AIOps practices.
• Establish robust evaluation, monitoring and observability frameworks.
• Build scalable, reusable components and contribute to shared frameworks and documentation.
• Optimise developer productivity through AI‑powered tools and automation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve real customer and business problems.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in software engineering, machine learning or data science within cloud‑native environments.
• Strong programming capability in Python and TypeScript, using modern AI frameworks.
• Proven experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines or agentic systems with LLM‑based frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AI evaluation, observability and optimisation techniques.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, data engineering concepts and Agile, product‑led delivery.
