Lawyer – Native Title & Resources (Queensland)

About the role
Crown Law is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Native Title and Resources Team. The role involves providing expert legal advice and representation on native title, cultural heritage, and resources matters for the Queensland government.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) for public infrastructure, ILUAs, mining and resources projects.
- Provide guidance on the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 (Qld), Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Act 2003 (Qld) and the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld).
- Draft and negotiate cultural heritage agreements and management plans.
- Represent the State in Federal Court, National Native Title Tribunal and Land Court proceedings, including determinations, compensation claims, consent determinations and appeals.
Required profile
- Admission as a lawyer in Queensland and a strong background in native title, cultural heritage or resources law.
- Demonstrated experience in litigation and tribunal work.
- Ability to manage complex, sensitive matters with professionalism.
- Commitment to the values of integrity, excellence, respect and responsibility.
Required skills
- Legal research and analysis of statutory frameworks.
- Drafting and negotiating legal agreements.
- Advocacy in court and tribunal settings.

- Salary package $102,817 – $111,974 per year plus leave loading and 12.75% superannuation.
