Lawyer – Asbestos & Dust Litigation

About the role

Join Maurice Blackburn's national Asbestos and Dust team in Sydney as a Lawyer focused on occupational disease compensation. You will work directly with clients facing serious health diagnoses, providing compassionate, high‑quality legal support throughout their compensation journey.

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with clients to take detailed instructions and build strong relationships.
• Review and interpret complex medical and employment records.
• Draft clear, thoughtful written communications and high‑quality court documents.
• Prepare briefs and liaise with medical experts and allied health professionals.
• Attend procedural hearings and represent the team in court.
• Collaborate closely with barristers to prepare matters for hearing.

Required profile

• Strong client‑service focus and personable approach.
• Commitment to social justice and supporting vulnerable clients.
• At least 1 year of Practical Legal Experience (PAE) or equivalent.
• Valid practising certificate.
• Prior experience in personal injury or occupational disease law is preferred.

Required skills

• Legal drafting of court documents and client communications.
• Analytical review of complex records.
