Landscape / Playscape Design Manager

About the role

Nido Early School is expanding its network of early learning centres across Australia and needs a Landscape / Playscape Design Manager to lead the creation of inspiring outdoor learning environments. You will translate the Reggio Emilia philosophy into tangible garden, yard and play space designs that become an integral part of each child’s daily curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate external landscape architects, developers and contractors to deliver projects on time, within budget and aligned with Nido’s design vision.
• Conceptualise and develop innovative outdoor learning spaces that support early childhood pedagogy and developmental needs.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from concept, design, construction, defect resolution to final handover for 10+ simultaneous projects.
• Monitor budgets, resolve site issues and ensure quality and compliance with Australian Standards and NQF Standards.
• Conduct regular site visits and collaborate with internal educators, service leaders and external partners.

Required profile

• Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
• Eligibility for AILA registration.
• Proven landscape architecture experience with a portfolio of built projects.
• Experience designing play spaces, educational environments or public spaces.
• Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks, safety and accessibility standards.
