L3 Systems Engineer

About the role

As a Level 3 Systems Engineer you will act as the senior technical escalation point for complex incidents and play a key role in delivering infrastructure and security projects. You will own end‑to‑end troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and the design, configuration and deployment of solutions across cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level escalation support for Microsoft 365, Windows, cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Design, configure and deploy secure solutions in Microsoft Azure, hybrid and on‑prem environments.
• Lead complex incident investigations, determine root causes and implement effective resolutions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers and technical leadership to strengthen escalation capability and support project delivery.
• Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 engineers, offering technical guidance and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Proven Level 3 or senior systems engineering experience within an MSP or large multi‑site IT environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting expertise across Microsoft 365, Windows, Azure and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, compliance frameworks and the Australian Essential Eight (preferred).
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects from configuration through to deployment.
• Familiarity with VMware, SD‑WAN, Starlink, IoT, remote‑community networks and building‑system integrations is advantageous.
