L2 Hardware Engineer – EO

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Level 2 Hardware Engineer to support the Engineering Lead in delivering system‑level hardware for mission‑critical defence programs. The role focuses on design assurance, integration, verification and validation (V&V) while ensuring compliance with regulatory and Commonwealth requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide design assurance for system‑level hardware, including integration and V&V activities.
• Develop, review and agree on technical specifications and lifecycle documents.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design to meet capability needs.
• Assist in test planning, develop procedures and support execution.
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety and security requirements.
• Identify and manage technical risks, participating in design reviews and program planning.
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Commonwealth agencies, contractors and partners.
• Support HF Radar programmes and maintain engineering standards, tools and compliance practices.

Required profile

• Experience supporting hardware design assurance in a complex, agile defence environment.
• Strong understanding of integration, verification and validation processes.
• Familiarity with regulatory and Commonwealth compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage technical risks and contribute to design reviews.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
