About the role

The Kitchen Steward supports the kitchen team at Qantas Lounge Canberra, delivering friendly and efficient service that meets both guest expectations and business standards. This position is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑stocked kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation and service tasks.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety throughout the kitchen.
• Handle waste disposal, stock supplies, and ensure equipment is ready for use.
• Work on a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Pass a Federal Police Clearance to work within the airport environment.

Required profile

• Australian working rights and ability to obtain a Federal Police Clearance.
• Previous experience in a high‑volume commercial kitchen.
• Physically fit and able to work on your feet in a fast‑paced setting.
• Warm, friendly personality with a genuine love for making guests feel welcome.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Required skills

• Food safety knowledge and understanding of beverage safety requirements.
