Junior Maintenance Technician – Rotating Day & Shift Roster

About the role

This position supports the operation of automated material handling equipment in a fast‑paced fulfilment centre. You will maintain conveyors, robots, sorters and packing machines, ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on conveyors, robots, sorters and packing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults, containing issues within authorised scope.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and automated systems, including PLC/HMI, VFDs, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Log work orders and maintenance activities in the CMMS and manage spare parts inventory.
• Coordinate with Operations, Warehouse teams and Automation Engineers to minimise disruption.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and participate in Kaizen, 5S and TPM initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with practical problem‑solving skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Trade qualification, apprenticeship progress or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or industrial maintenance (preferred).
• Experience in industrial maintenance, automated MHE or warehouse equipment (preferred).

Required skills

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• PLC/HMI systems, VFDs, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Use of CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo, UpKeep or Llumin.
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
