Junior–Intermediate Tax Accountant

About the role

Corporate Advantage is looking for a motivated Junior–Intermediate Tax Accountant to join its Financial Accounting & Tax team in Parramatta. You will support the delivery of accounting, taxation, compliance and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of Australian business clients while working closely with senior accountants and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
• Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for financial reporting and taxation engagements.
• Prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements and other compliance obligations.
• Perform bank, creditor, debtor, payroll and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Support bookkeeping and cloud accounting using Xero and other software.
• Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations.
• Liaise with clients to obtain required accounting records and documentation.
• Provide basic taxation advice and respond to compliance queries under supervision.
