Junior Desktop Analyst

About the role

Rural Affinity is looking for a Junior Desktop Analyst to provide first‑level technology support to its team. This development‑focused position offers hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and SharePoint while working in a supportive, values‑led environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for IT enquiries, logging and progressing tickets through the approved system.
• Investigate and resolve common first‑level issues, escalating recurring problems to the IT Operations Lead.
• Support laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, peripherals and basic network connectivity.
• Assist users with Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and other approved applications.
• Prepare, configure and issue devices to new employees and manage equipment returns, reassignment and secure disposal.
• Maintain an accurate asset register, coordinate warranty claims and repairs.
• Create, update and disable user accounts, assign licences, groups and permissions for onboarding, role changes and off‑boarding.
• Enroll and support devices via Intune, deploy approved applications and updates, and troubleshoot compliance issues.
• Create and maintain SharePoint sites using approved templates and support related issues.
• Maintain Teams phone services and support meeting‑room technology.
• Follow information‑security, privacy and acceptable‑use policies and report any incidents.

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV, Diploma, or equivalent foundational IT knowledge.
• Basic understanding of Windows computers and common workplace hardware and software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
• Interest in developing skills in Entra ID, Intune and cloud device management.
• Logical problem‑solving ability and adherence to documented procedures.
• Clear written and verbal communication with a customer‑focused approach.
