Junior Designer

About the role

Koala is looking for a Junior Designer to support design execution across its furniture product lines. You will work closely with the Design Manager and senior designers to develop concepts, create technical assets, and ensure all outputs align with Koala’s Design Identity.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned design tasks across all product categories to support project delivery.
• Create sketches, renderings, supplier briefs, and technical assets in line with Koala’s design standards.
• Communicate with suppliers, submit sample/trim requests and follow up on timelines.
• Own small‑scope projects or discrete components from concept through prototyping, with senior support.
• Maintain and update digital and physical CMF libraries, workshop design spaces and tools.
• Prepare visual and written content for internal presentations, stakeholder meetings and formal reviews.
• Collaborate with Designers, R&D and Technical Designers to ensure cohesive, on‑brand outcomes.
• Support R&D in validating new concepts through physical sampling, 3D printing and SolidWorks drawings.
• Prepare detailed handover briefs for creative stakeholders, including 3D product scans for website renders.

Required profile

• Junior‑level designer with a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative and able to take ownership of small‑scope projects.
• Comfortable communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
• Open to feedback and eager to develop foundational design skills.

Required skills

• SolidWorks for technical drawing.
• 3D printing and prototype creation.
• Management of CMF (Color, Material, Finish) libraries.
• Rendering and sketching tools for concept visualization.
