Junior Commercial Lawyer

About the role

The Junior Commercial Lawyer will join Law Squared’s Commercial team in either Sydney or Melbourne, providing legal delivery, matter management and business development support. This role offers broad commercial exposure across a range of legal disciplines while developing the technical and professional skills needed to become a trusted advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and amend commercial agreements and legal documents.
• Assist with contract reviews, mark‑ups and negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, reports and advice.
• Support senior lawyers on client matters across commercial legal areas.
• Assist with privacy, consumer law and general commercial matters.
• Prepare first drafts of legal documents, correspondence and advice.
• Support matter management and administration to ensure efficient progress.
• Attend client meetings alongside senior lawyers and prepare meeting notes, action items and follow‑up reports.
• Assist with proposal preparation and client presentations.
• Support business development activities and relationship management initiatives.
• Maintain accurate client and opportunity records within Salesforce.
• Assist with matter creation, engagement documentation and administrative requirements.
• Contribute to knowledge management, precedent development and process improvement initiatives.
• Support the smooth operation of the Commercial team through administrative and coordination activities.
