Junior Buyer – Imported Wine Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to help build and manage a premium imported wine portfolio for a fast‑growing beverage company in Melbourne. You will be the bridge between international producers and the Australian market, ensuring the right wines reach our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and source high‑quality international wines with strong market potential.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with wineries, brokers and trade agents overseas.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, volumes and exclusivity agreements.
• Create and monitor a data‑driven category plan for the imported wine segment.
• Analyse consumer trends to spot gaps and introduce new premium products.

Required profile

• Proven experience in wine buying, category management or procurement (import experience a plus).
• Strong commercial instincts backed by data‑analysis capabilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across cultures.
• Highly organized with solid forecasting and inventory planning abilities.
• Passion for the global wine scene and emerging beverage trends.
