Junior AI Full-Stack Engineer (Contract)

About the role

1QLabs is seeking a pragmatic junior full‑stack engineer to help support and scale Agent One, its patent‑pending AI‑powered discovery platform used by enterprise clients in construction and financial services. This is a hands‑on, 3‑month contract with flexible hours, remote‑first work and a clear path to a permanent role for the right fit.

Key responsibilities

• Support and improve AI‑assisted stakeholder interview experiences, including voice calls, transcript capture, file upload and real‑time guidance.
• Develop product features in a modern Next.js App Router codebase using React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Prisma and PostgreSQL.
• Work on frontend UI, API routes, data flows, tests, bug fixes and small end‑to‑end product improvements.
• Assist with realtime systems using WebSockets, Server‑Sent Events and voice/audio integrations.
• Enhance multi‑agent workflows across flagship agents (Scout, Lens, Arc, Pulse) by refining prompts, context construction and tool access.
• Strengthen the discovery data model covering blueprints, phases, swimlanes, goals, findings, opportunities, evidence and semantic memory.
• Leverage AI coding agents, structured plans, automated reviews and iterative testing as part of normal delivery.

Required profile

• Strong TypeScript and full‑stack engineering fundamentals.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Good judgment around UX, reliability, data modeling and production risk.
• Curiosity about LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering and AI product development.
• Ability to debug messy real‑world behaviour, not just build greenfield features.

What we offer

• 3‑month contract with AUD $35‑50 per hour, based on experience.
