Java Engineer – 6‑Month Contract (Melbourne)

About the role

We are looking for a Java Engineer to join a high‑performing product and technology business on a 6‑month contract. The role is based in Melbourne and operates in a hybrid setting, allowing you to collaborate both on‑site and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams working with React and GraphQL to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Implement event‑driven solutions leveraging Kafka and ensure reliable message processing.
• Deploy and manage services in an AWS cloud environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
