IT Technician – Hardware Support

About the role

Iron Mountain is looking for a motivated IT Technician to join its Information Technology team in Canberra. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and securing hardware systems and computer networks to ensure optimal performance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair desktops, laptops and servers to keep hardware and software environments fully operational.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to manage inventory, execute secure data sanitisation and comply with regulatory standards.
• Implement routine system updates, patch management and preventative health checks to minimise downtime and uphold security policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in an IT help‑desk or technician role.
• University degree or diploma.
• Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driving licence, Australian citizenship and a forklift licence.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of servers, desktop PCs, laptops and printers.
• Experience with data sanitisation concepts.
• Proficiency in patch management and system updates.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform diagnostic repairs.
