IT Support Technician (L1) – Onsite – Perth

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Support Technician (Level 1) to provide on‑site deskside assistance for our Perth office. This freelance position lasts for one year with the possibility of extension and involves direct interaction with end‑users, VIP support, and critical incident handling.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end technical support for desktop and laptop hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities and break/fix tasks.
• Manage the full lifecycle of desktop devices, including configuration, OS imaging, patching, and vendor hardware replacements.
• Utilise SCCM, Intune and ServiceNow for asset tracking, ticket resolution and remote assistance.
• Install, update and patch approved software in line with IT policies.
• Provide remote and deskside support using EUC tools and support applications such as MS Office, Outlook and VPN clients.
• Enforce security protocols, antivirus monitoring and desktop policy compliance.
• Act as primary on‑site contact for VIP users during escalations or outages.
• Support printers, scanners and other peripherals, handling troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
• Assist with Active Directory user account management and smart‑hands tasks.
• Document incident resolutions, hardware inventory and technical guides.
• Follow ITIL practices for incident, problem and service request management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on IT support experience (L1/L2 deskside).
• Proven ability to work on‑site in a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with Windows OS, basic macOS and mobile device support.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and security compliance.
