IT Field Technician – Casual (NSW)

About the role

Doorstep IT is expanding its network of casual IT Field Technicians across New South Wales. You will travel to residential and small‑business sites, diagnose and fix a wide range of hardware and software issues, and provide friendly, jargon‑free advice.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customer homes and businesses to troubleshoot and resolve hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals) and software problems.
• Set up and troubleshoot networks, Wi‑Fi, and NBN connections.
• Perform data recovery, backup configuration, and storage solutions.
• Install and configure operating systems, applications, and security tools.
• Configure smart‑home devices, AV equipment, and other connected devices.
• Provide cyber‑security advice and solutions to residential and SMB clients.
• Document job notes, parts used, and outcomes via the technician app.

Required profile

• Current, valid CompTIA A+ certification.
• Australian driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows and macOS environments.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
