IT Desktop Support Analyst (L1/L2) – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for an IT Desktop Support Analyst to provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for a major Defence environment in Newcastle. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, deploying devices and applications, and maintaining Windows and Office environments in a secure setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 desktop support for hardware, software and peripheral devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user incidents and service requests.
• Support deployment of desktop devices, applications, software packages and patches.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Assist with desktop imaging, system testing and documentation activities.
• Support end users during application roll‑outs and acceptance testing.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, requests and technical documentation.
• Contribute to system performance, stability and security.

Required profile

• Previous experience in IT Desktop Support, Service Desk or Technical Support.
• Strong experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments.
• Experience with software installation, deployment and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for AGSVA Security Clearance.
• Experience in Defence or Government environments is highly regarded.
