IT Business Analyst

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join its Sydney team. The role focuses on driving business process improvement, digital transformation initiatives, and enterprise technology solutions across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and IT teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements and functional specifications.
• Map current and future‑state business processes and workflows.
• Partner with technical teams to design, test, and implement business solutions, including supporting UAT and deployment activities.
• Maintain solution documentation in ServiceNow and CMDB environments and support business continuity activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Analysis or Systems Analysis.
• Proven ability to translate complex business needs into practical technology solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills.
• Experience delivering projects in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP platforms such as Pronto, Scala, Epicor.
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and CMDB.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like Power BI or Cognos (desirable).
