About the role

Southpaws, a referral hospital in Melbourne, is recruiting Internal Medicine Specialists for its Malvern East location, which is adding an Internal Medicine department to support all ongoing services. The role works alongside other specialists in a corporate environment focused on creating diagnostic testing and treatment options.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests and examinations
• Evaluate scans and tests
• Use a variety of specialised medical equipment
• Perform surgical procedures
• Update patient files
• Supervise internal medicine vet techs or surgical vet techs
• Provide professional consultations at the request of a general veterinary practitioner

Required profile

• Experienced individual with advanced training in the function, diagnosis, pathology and treatment of internal body systems
• Training areas may include oncology, endocrinology, haematology, infectious diseases, cardiology, gastroenterology, immunology, neurology, nephrology and respiratory disease management
