About the role
Join Rockhampton Hospital as an Intern Pharmacist and take part in a structured training program that prepares you for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and AHPRA. You will work across inpatient, outpatient and discharge settings, gaining hands‑on experience in medication dispensing, patient counselling and drug information support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in medical, surgical and dispensary areas.
- Participate in rotations across diverse clinical departments, progressively managing more complex patient cases under pharmacist supervision.
- Dispense medications, provide patient counselling and supply drug information to healthcare teams.
- Contribute to discharge planning and outpatient pharmacy activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) qualification.
- Enrolment in an approved Intern Pharmacist Training Program agreed with CQHHS, commencing in 2026.
- Eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia/AHPRA after successful completion of the training period.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to daily hospital pharmacy practice in a regional setting.
- Completion of the Intern Pharmacist Recruitment Questionnaire.
