Interim Financial Controller

About the role

This interim position offers full ownership of the finance function for a medium‑sized construction group with a strong project pipeline. You will be highly visible across operations and the senior executive team, providing finance insight that drives decision‑making and long‑term performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end financial reporting on weekly, monthly and annual cycles, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, forecasts and statutory accounts.
• Oversee all accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and cash‑flow management.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure compliance with controls and reporting standards.
• Shape financial strategy, manage risk and identify improvement opportunities across the group.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team while driving process automation and efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified CA or CPA with experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller in a large, project‑focused business.
• Operational mindset with a strong understanding of how finance supports business outcomes.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, juggle competing priorities and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading people and improving finance processes.
