Interim Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a dynamic not‑for‑profit sporting organisation in Western Australia. Reporting to the Executive Manager of Operations and Capability, you will ensure robust financial management and support the organisation’s mission of building stronger communities through sport.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach the finance team, overseeing all financial operations.
• Develop and execute financial strategy, budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
• Represent finance to internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Review and improve internal controls, policies, processes and systems.
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory reporting and audit requirements.
• Manage cash‑flow planning, investments and insurance policies.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA).
• Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle financial management experience in a fast‑paced corporate, ASX‑listed or public‑sector environment.
• Proven experience leading a finance team and delivering strategic financial plans.
• Strong analytical ability and experience with major change projects, business cases and financial modelling.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central.
• Familiarity with SAP Concur.
