Intelligence Officer – Queensland Police Service

About the role

The Intelligence Officer will join the Major and Organised Crime (MOCS) Intelligence Team within the State Intelligence Group. The team provides intelligence support for complex, statewide investigations and tactical operations across Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Support the QPS Strategic Plan by delivering intelligence services to Command and regional units, helping assess problems, cases and emerging issues.
• Provide analytical advice and recommendations to QPS officers involved in investigations and operations.
• Plan, produce and disseminate intelligence assessments on crime trends and community safety using established intelligence processes.
• Build and maintain effective networks with internal QPS units and external law‑enforcement partners and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best‑practice work procedures within the intelligence team.

Required profile

• Willingness to work in any Group/Unit where Crime Command operates.
• Ability to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.
• Preparedness to encounter graphic and sensitive material in written, visual or audio form.
• Eligibility to obtain and retain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
• Application remains valid for 12 months.
