Infrastructure Operations - Systems Engineer

About the role

Capgemini is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Systems Engineer to manage and optimise Windows Server environments across Azure, AWS and VMware cloud platforms. The role focuses on ensuring system performance, security compliance and continuous improvement through automation and best‑practice implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Apply vendor best practices for cloud and on‑premises implementations.
• Manage Windows Server environments hosted in Azure, AWS and third‑party VMware Cloud.
• Perform patching and routine management to maintain optimal performance, security compliance and minimal downtime.
• Automate deployments and configuration updates to reduce manual effort.
• Execute application and platform changes, releases and service requests.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and propose service‑improvement solutions.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to develop corrective actions or work‑arounds for major incidents.
• Follow ITIL guidelines for Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Document all work according to required standards, methods and procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider or in the Energy Resources sector.
• Hands‑on experience managing Windows Servers in Azure, AWS and VMware environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP and file services.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Proficiency with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API and Python.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, VMware, Linux, and monitoring tools like Commvault Metallic or Checkmk is desirable.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code automation (Terraform, Ansible) is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn emerging technologies and share knowledge with the team.
• Adaptability to changing environments and the ability to work independently.
