Inductions Trainer – Underground Mining (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Barminco is seeking an Inductions Trainer to prepare new starters for safe, efficient underground operations. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based in Hazelmere, Perth, and offers a Monday‑to‑Friday roster with occasional weekend work (days in lieu).

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate premobilisation training for new underground workers.
• Deliver simulator training on mobile mining equipment and provide performance feedback.
• Maintain and update training materials to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct safety and operational briefings to build situational awareness.
• Provide training at Hazelmere and on‑site locations, with occasional weekend sessions.

Required profile

• Experience as an Inductions Trainer or similar role in underground mining.
• Strong knowledge of underground mining processes, safety standards, and mobile equipment.
• Hands‑on underground operational experience with the ability to mentor inexperienced staff.
• Ability to tailor training for diverse audiences across gender, culture and disability.
• Professional communication skills and confidence presenting to mid‑large groups.

Required skills

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience facilitating simulator training focused on efficiency and rapid skill development.
• Experience delivering training using Virtual Reality technology.
• Understanding of AQTF requirements and mapping programs to nationally recognised units of competency.
