Independent Director – Board Position

About the role

Ngarluma Ngurra Limited (NNL) seeks an experienced Independent Director to join its Board. The role provides objective, commercially‑focused advice as NNL evaluates land, property, pastoral, financing and strategic development opportunities that benefit the Ngarluma community.

Key responsibilities

• Offer independent, commercial insight to support Board decision‑making.
• Contribute to long‑term strategic direction and asset planning.
• Assess land, property, pastoral and commercial development proposals.
• Oversee financing, investment and development initiatives.
• Review business cases, risk assessments and project performance.
• Promote strong governance, accountability and transparent reporting.
• Collaborate with fellow Directors, senior management and external advisers.
• Champion outcomes that deliver sustainable benefits for the Ngarluma community.

Required profile

• Significant experience in at least two areas such as land development, property development, real estate, financing, pastoral operations or strategic commercial development.
• Senior‑level board, advisory or executive experience.
• Demonstrated commercial judgement and financial literacy.
• Understanding of directors’ duties and modern governance practices.
• High integrity, independence and accountability.
• Ability to work respectfully within an Aboriginal organisation.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
