Independent Contractor Psychologist, Social Worker or Clinical Counsellor

About the role

Picton Psychology, an established private psychology practice serving the Wollondilly and Macarthur communities since 2013, is looking for an experienced clinician to join its team as an independent contractor. The role offers 1 to 4 consulting days per week, so it suits someone adding private practice days to an existing job or building a larger caseload.

The contractor pays 60 to 75% of professional fees, with the percentage rising with regular consulting commitment and the level of practice support provided. You can choose your days, hours, caseload size, clinical interests and the referrals you accept.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention
• Deliver adult and adolescent therapy for anxiety, mood and stress-related presentations, trauma and PTSD, relationship therapy and group workshops
• Handle Workcover and SIRA cases
• Collaborate with GPs, psychiatrists and allied health professionals

Required profile

• Registered or Clinical Psychologist with current AHPRA registration
• Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with current AASW accreditation
• Clinical Counsellor or Psychotherapist with appropriate PACFA registration and relevant clinical experience
• Professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and relevant provider numbers
• Strong commitment to ethical, evidence-based, client-centred practice; able to work independently with access to a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, clinical documentation and organisational skills; private practice experience is welcome but not essential
