Incident Response Manager

About the role

The Incident Response Manager leads the response to critical communications incidents, ensuring swift resolution and continuous service improvement. Working closely with Speedcast’s end‑customer and operations teams, the role blends technical coordination, data analysis, and stakeholder communication.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end technical incident response from initiation to closure.
• Assess incident severity, allocate internal resources, and restore services promptly.
• Provide IoT tracking portal updates, manage Iridium Certus controls, and conduct daily checks and escalations.
• Maintain timely communication with customers, senior management, and other stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and test incident response plans.
• Facilitate post‑incident debriefs, root‑cause analysis, and trend reporting.
• Stay informed on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best‑practice frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing incidents in a critical communications environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Hobart for at least eight months a year (August‑March) with occasional travel to Adelaide.
• Availability outside regular hours for project or change‑management events.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with customers and senior leadership.
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred; ServiceNow experience a plus.
